Daniel Rojatz is a photographer and artist living in Austria.
As an artist, he focuses on abstract compositions, alienation, and density of detail, mainly based on old photographs, fragments of posters, and found objects, weathered and drawn by time.
His ‘overpainting’ is closer to calligraphy than to traditional painting, as it focuses less on depiction and more on transformative gestures. it‘s a search for the moment when documentary becomes an object of creation, the moment when it no longer suffices as mere description and offers the opportunity to transcend what has been seen and found.
